Thermal Camera for Smart Phones

I recently read an article where some doctors made an attachment for a smart phone that could take ultrasound images.  This could revolutionize medical diagnostics and make them cheaper, easier, and more accessible (See: http://www.gizmag.com/ultrasound-images-a-snap-with-a-smartphone/11556/).

I'd like to see this applied to an industry near and dear to my heart: energy.  It would seem a simple matter to create a thermal imaging lens or attachment for a mobile device like an iphone.  This way, the high costs of thermal cameras could be cut by relying on the phone's existing computing power and graphical user interface.  An energy auditor could then easily identify hot & cold spots and energy efficiency opportunities in buildings.  (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermographic_camera).
